NSBA Club Connect Breakfast Series Featuring:
“SaskBuilds & Priority Saskatchewan 2.0”
A Presentation by Kyle Toffan – SaskBuilds Corporation
SaskBuilds was established in fall 2012 with a focus on changing the way government plans and manages infrastructure to support the programs that government delivers for the citizens of Saskatchewan. Considerable progress has been made, which has led to value for taxpayers money, better capital planning and an improved focus on helping Saskatchewan businesses succeed through Priority Saskatchewan.
This presentation will focus on the recent changes to SaskBuilds’ mandate, including:
– assuming responsibility for approximately $2 billion of goods, services and construction procurement through the new Single Procurement Service
– taking on responsibilities for federal-provincial infrastructure programs
– “raising the bar” on how we look at opportunities for Saskatchewan businesses
– continuous improvement on approaches to capital planning and asset management
Kyle was recently appointed as the President and CEO of SaskBuilds Corporation in December 2018. He comes to this role with a decade of previous senior-level experience with the Government of Saskatchewan and additional private sector experience, most notably as Vice President in the Transaction Advisory Services practice of Ernst and Young Orenda Corporate Finance Inc.
Throughout his career, he has led various high-profile initiatives related to alternative financing, procurement, integrated capital planning, federal-provincial-municipal relations and other change management tasks. This includes development and implementation of the Province of Saskatchewan’s first comprehensive capital planning framework, manual and 10-Year Integrated Capital Plan.
Kyle lives in Regina, Saskatchewan with his wife Allison and three children. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master’s of Public Administration from Queen’s University.
